The pooBagger makes dog poop cleanup a breeze

If you have a dog, you have a responsibility to clean up after her.

Far too many people fail to do that.

In the Denver metro area, officials have threatened to close at least three dog parks in the past year because careless owners failed clean up after their dogs.

Tom Zurn wants to make it easier, less messy and less painful to be responsible.

The pooBagger offers ergonomic option

That’s why he invented the PooBagger, a one-step, ergonomic option to dispose of dog waste.

It’s simple enough, a super-strong polymer scoop with teeth and a foam handle that makes it easy to use. Add the 24-inch handle extension and you don’t even have to bend over. The pooBagger works with most household plastic bags, newspaper bags or biodegradable bags.pooBagger with extension

Zurn sent me a pooBagger to try out. There are three people in our house who walk my dog Sydney, an Australian shepherd-corgi mix.

My parents, who are in their 80s, both enjoy using the pooBagger with the handle extension without the worry of having to knell down or bend over. That made it easy for them to pick up after her.

Easy to use

I found the pooBagger a breeze to use during easy walks around the neighborhood. But I opted not to bring it along on our longer 2- to 3-mile walks along the greenbelt trail.

When the snow thawed, using the pooBagger made it simple and easy to clean up all the mess that had been hidden underneath.

Years ago, I was at a big box pet store when the clerk sent the people in front of me back to the small animal area.

“Ferrets,” she said as she shuddered. “They just don’t pass the poop to fun ratio.”

Bottom line: For me, dogs do pass the poop to fun ratio. And the pooBagger makes meeting your obligation to clean up after your pup easy.
