When you bake dog cookies, you know the ingredients are healthy and safe. You can control portions and bake as many or as few as you want.

Instead of going to the store and getting your dog questionable treats filled with preservatives and unpronounceable ingredients, why not bake a better dog cookie for your furry friend?

When you bake dog cookies, you know the ingredients are healthy and safe. If you feel really ambitious, also can use your slow-cooker to make all of your dog’s food.

Baking your own treats also allows you to control portions. You can make as many or as few as you want. Bake a few to keep them fresh.

Or you can double, triple or quadruple the recipe and freeze the leftovers.

Use this simple five-ingredient recipe courtesy of  Emotional Pet Support to whip up a batch in a little under 30 minutes.

Just be sure to read the ingredients on the peanut butter label — don’t buy a brand that uses Xylitol, also known as birch sugar, a sweetener that can fatal for dogs.
