A few months ago, when I got my pug, I was introduced to dog crates.
Some people swear by them. Other people don’t.
I opted to use one after trying it and discovering my little pug partner likes soft dog crates best.
Soft dog crates offer a chance to easily create a cozy, comfortable den for your puppy or new dog.
Using a crate makes it easier to house-train your dog, keeps her safe when you’re away from home and provides a valuable tool to help a dog that struggles with separation anxiety.
Flexible space
One major benefit of soft dog crates is that they offer a lot of ventilation. They have flaps on multiple sides to create a space that suits your dog’s needs. That way your dog won’t feel cramped or crowded. And you won’t have to worry about leaving your dog inside the crate while you go to work or run errands.
Express yourself
Wire crates are the most commonly used dog crates, but they are plain and all look the same. They only differ in size. Soft dog crates, however offer a variety of options. They come in various colors, patterns and designs, which gives you a chance to match your dog’s personality and express your own personal style.
Soft dog crates are easy to store
Dog crates take up a limited amount of floor space, but storing them can be tricky. Wire or plastic crates aren’t storage friendly without dismantling them. Soft dog crates, however, can be folded to half their size. They can fit into a minimum space inside a closet or even under your bed.
Good traveling partner
Soft dog crates are easy to take on the road when you travel with your dog. They are lightweight and can be used in either the front or back seats to create a safe nesting spot for your dog during your travels. If you fly, however, you’ll need to leave your soft crate at home. Airlines require crates made of fiberglass, metal or rigid plastic.
Final words
While there are mixed opinions about crates, my experience tells me many dog owners will appreciate the benefits of soft crates. Give one a try.
