Halloween dog safety tips

Posted October 22, 2016

Halloween has fast become a holiday the whole family can enjoy. From adults to kids and even pets, it seems, everyone and every animal gets in on the Halloween fun. But even if your pet can’t wait for you to help put on a costume, there are  Halloween dog safety tips you should use to ensure that your animals stay out of harm’s way on All Hallow’s Eve.

No matter the temptation, it’s best to keep animals inside—away from danger or anyone seeking to cause trouble on Halloween. But once they’re inside, pets shouldn’t be left with decorations or candy that they could reach and chomp on. Some decorations can harm animals if ingested, and some candy does too—especially chocolate, if it’s eaten in large quantities.

If you have decided to dress up your pet, make sure that it’s something that doesn’t restrict them from normal biological functions, such as breathing and going to the bathroom. For even more tips on a safe holiday with pets, use the information in this graphic.
