How do pets help you overcome teenage complexes and first-date fears?

Adolescence can suck the joy out of the hobbies and activities you once relished. But stroking, cuddling, and playing with a canine companion helps build that special bond between owner and dog and gives you happiness and pleasure. But can having a dog help you to find love, either online or off?

How pets (especially dogs) help teens meet and find love

Becoming a teenager can leave you feeling a bit lost in your own mind, sometimes failing to see the point in things and even questioning the reasons behind stuff you wouldn’t normally care for and vice versa. You can completely lose interest in the things that you love and that you normally enjoy.

Adding a dog and the dependence they have on you for companionship, being fed and watered, being exercised, and having a warm and reliable home can take your mind off the sometimes trivial matters that clog up your headspace.

The dog teaches you many things: caring about something, showing love, and how the same principles work with humans. And being a caring dog owner makes you attractive too! As you have at least one thing in common with your potential partner, your love for dogs, checking out dating site reviews before going on the quest to explore relationships seems like a reasonable place to start.

It is one thing to stumble on your soulmate while walking your dog in the park, but why not make it easier by reading reviews on Benaughty to see if the dating site allows you to filter out pet lovers to connect with them and only them. The beauty of dating site reviews is that they save you precious time that you could spend on multiple activities instead of figuring out a dating site’s messaging system, gender distribution, and pricing plans.

So, does the site fit your needs? If it does, take a picture while holding your pet so that the pooch can help attract attention from other pet lovers. The choices are aplenty, and core principles of having a pet can help your love life immensely — work together, learn together, love each other.

Walk your pups together

Dog walking can help ease muddled-up teenage thoughts and raging hormones. Taking a dog on your date can help give you something to discuss due to the dog’s entertaining behavior.

Even a shy teen or muted adolescent can share emotions with someone if a dog’s playful nature brings it out in them. Walking with your pets creates a safe way to let you learn about each other.

Sparks can fly, and before you know it, you find love. If things go well and eventually you feel like taking the next step, bear in mind how the dog will react, as moving in with someone can be a scary time for a dog. So if you feel ready to take the next step, consider how your dog will adapt before rushing into anything.

Dogs create conversation topics

At any dating site, especially at one fit for teens, cute dog pics can inspire fascinating conversations and also serve as ice-breakers. If you see someone you like with dog pictures and don’t know what to say, ask about the dog!

Try not to go overboard, or they will think you like the dog more than them. By complementing the pooch, you will make them feel good but don’t forget to complement them, or you will not get anywhere.

Having a dog on either side of the relationship is a great backup to prevent awkward conversations. If there are ever any awkward silences, you can always talk about the dog. This will show your date your kind and caring side, which will warm their heart with affection.

Learn about loyalty

A dog can be extremely educational for teenagers going through physical and mental changes as they approach adulthood. A dog’s loyalty can be imprinted on a teenager to show how committed you can be to a person. These character traits will serve you well when you do eventually find love, so you stick with that person through thick and thin.

Adolescence plays tricks on your mind and takes you on a rollercoaster journey of emotions. You can be on top of the world and then come crashing down in an instant, seemingly from nothing.

A dog will love you and treat you the same regardless of where you are on your emotional scale. Their loyalty is unmatched, which is a real tonic during the bad times.

However low you feel, dogs provide a welcome distraction from confusion and strange thoughts. Previously you may have gone for a walk to clear your head. With a dog, you can have company on that walk, a partner for your pictures, and a perfect object to demonstrate you can show signs of love and affection to your partner.
