Pet vitamins help treat separation anxiety in dogs

Calming vitamins help dogs suffering from separation anxiety or coping with fear caused by thunderstorms, fireworks, or trips to the vet.

Pet vitamins effectively treat multiple physiological issues in dogs, such as separation anxiety. Just like we love our dogs and miss them while they are away, our dogs feel the same, as they are emotionally attached to us and consider us to be their family. Being away from us can make them feel anxious and stressed.

You might have noticed that when you return home, your dog might get extra excited and happy to see you. However, if you notice that your dog has clawed or chewed your door, furniture, or other items, it’s a clear-cut sign that the dog is suffering from separation anxiety.

Feeling such anxiety is never good for dogs; that is why some veterinarians suggest using calming vitamins to help treat this condition.

When dogs are given calming vitamins, they tend to feel less anxious and stay at ease all the time. Just imagine visiting your friend and not being worried about leaving your dog behind. All this is made possible by the special ingredients used in formulating these products, such as:

  1. Chamomile flower extract
  2. Passionflower
  3. Valerian Root
  4. L-theanine

Note: not all vitamins available contain these ingredients; only the best ones via reputed firms do.

Key calming vitamin ingredients

Chamomile flower extract

This ingredient helps in sedating anxious dogs. It relaxes their muscles and keeps them calm.

Valerian root

It is a safe, natural ingredient that is used while formulating the most effective pet vitamins. Valerian root is known for its ability to calm down dogs.

Passionflower

Passionflower is another calming agent, just like chamomile flower and valerian root.

L-theanine

It is an amino acid that is present in tea leaves. L-theanine is known for increasing the dopamine levels of GABA in dogs. Dopamine and GABA are both neurotransmitters that help dogs in managing their emotional responses.

The scientists formulate a unique blend by combining all these mentioned ingredients along with some more. The end product (pet vitamins) is considered totally safe for dogs and effectively treats their anxiety problem.

The best thing about passionflower, chamomile flower extract, L-theanine, and valerian root is that they are all natural and cause zero side effects.

Points to consider when choosing calming vitamins

Apart from treating separation anxiety, calming vitamins also help dogs with other anxieties associated with:

  1. Traveling
  2. Thunderstorms
  3. Veterinary visits
  4. Fireworks
  5. Uncomfortable changes, etc.

Although the pet vitamins are considered completely safe for calming dogs, it is still advisable to consult with your vet before making the final decision.

Also, another reason to consult your doctor is to know if these vitamins can negatively interact with any prescribed medicines and cause reactions.
