Thanksgiving is one of the biggest food holidays. And that can pose several threats to your dog.
First, if you haven’t already stopped your dog’s begging habit, expect it to be on full display during the holiday. To keep your dog safe from dangerous foods, you may need to confine your pup away from the table during the feast.
Although many Thanksgiving foods are safe for dogs like turkey, pumpkin, and green beans. But some can be toxic including onions, garlic, and nuts. Never give your dog cooked turkey bones. They can splinter and cause a choking hazard or worse puncture an intestine.
After the holiday, when you start getting sick of eating turkey, consider turning leftovers into dog food or treats.
