Pets are no less pesky than toddlers. Puppies especially love to grab their share of fun and mischief like any other mischievous kid in the house. So, it is only natural that pet parents want to ensure the absolute safety of their adorable pets inside the house.

Window shades and curtains are most often the targeted objects of pets; they love to play with the drapes and cords that hang from windows. But, the truth is that they can get into trouble with messy window dressings. So the first step is to choose pet-safe window coverings that hold zero threats for your furry companions.

To relieve some of your burdens, here’s a tip: you can try out pet-safe modern cordless blinds. To learn more about how to choose pet-safe window covering, read on.

Avoid low hanging fabrics

Cats love to play with hanging drapes. They try to climb up, and while doing so, they ruin the fabric making your drapes turn into rags.

Instead, you could choose valances or some other options that would keep your privacy intact. Plus, you wouldn’t have to worry about your pet potentially ruining it.

Choose cordless blinds

Cords are dangerous for pets, especially puppies. Pets love to play with cords, and while doing so, they can get injured or even die if the cord becomes wrapped around their necks.

Choose a cordless window dressing that will not give you sleepless nights worrying about the well-being of your beloved pets.

Consider wooden blinds

If you are thinking of installing vinyl or any other fabric for that matter, do not. You might be making a huge mistake.

Wooden blinds give a classic look to your rooms, plus these are stronger. Because pets are keen observers and love to look outside, wooden blinds could be your viable option. You can easily tilt the slats on wooden blinds to let your pets have a better view of the outside world.

By doing so, you will ensure that your pets won’t try to thrust open the blinds and potentially damage them.

Vertical blinds provide another option

Your pets will be able to slide through these blinds, but be sure to go cordless to avoid potential choking hazards. Make sure you choose blinds that are sturdy because pets will invariably scratch whatever they find in front of them. Hence, a durable piece is something that will keep your pockets from drying out.

Think about mini-blinds

These are cost-effective and go well with most decor. The slats are flexible, which lets your pet stick its paws or head out to get a good view of the outside world.

These are better options than vinyl or aluminum, hands down! The blinds are designed so your pet won’t be able to push through them to get outside.

Choose the right pet-safe window coverings

Above all, try to choose something that is strong and can endure any scratching. Good luck and make the right choice of pet-safe window coverings to make your home a haven for your furry babies!
