3 reasons dogs are better than cats

Posted March 9, 2021

Collection of dogs and cats. Dogs are better than cats because they provide service and companionship.
Dogs are better than cats because they provide service and companionship.

Some people disagree with the statement that dogs are better than cats and are not ready to reconsider. We respect cat admirers a lot but must notice that their perspective is more about feelings than reasons.

If we forget what pets we are talking about and compare eagle and falcon, arguments about choosing a bird become more weighty. For those who are doubting and ready to decide according to the fair comparison of dogs and cats’ pros and cons, we are ready to prove that a puppy in your house will grow into an indispensable assistant and a member of a family.

The first great reason dogs are better than cats is that dogs are animals in society’s service. Guide-dogs are desperately necessary for us. A blind person with a guide-dog is lucky. A lot of people need the help of this kind and responsible animal. Not every breed can be good at it, but those who can become real friends and irreplaceable assistants for the whole life. Other dogs that provide a valuable service:

Bomb-sniffing dogs. This is dangerous and potentially deadly work. These dogs are on the front lines and save lives every day.

Police dogs. They help catch criminals and find drugs. Police dogs also can follow trails to track suspects or find lost children.

Rescue dogs. These dogs are trained to find people under the rubble after earthquakes or ruined buildings. For rescuers, it is hard to imagine their dangerous work without this kind of help.

Guard dogs. Both business owners and homeowners can use guard dogs to protect their property.

Hunting dogs. Dogs help find and recover game for hunters.

2. Dogs make great companions

The second great reason dogs are better than cats is that dogs are fun to have around.

Without any doubt, dogs are the best friends for children. Dogs love the children with the same passion they love their owners. They try to protect them if they feel the child is in danger.

Dogs are patient and wait faithfully for their owners to return home. They greet you enthusiastically, even if you’ve only been gone for a few minutes. You want to have a reason to come home and know that someone will be overjoyed hearing your steps outside. The dog is the only answer.

3. Dogs make you more responsible

At the same time, this pet is for increasing responsibility. When you have a dog, you must wake up early, go out three times a day and come back home not too late. It is a perfect possibility to streamline life. You can run in the morning when you go out. Use this time for some sport that you need. Early rising is much healthier for your body than waking up in the afternoon.

Cats provide services

Catching mice

Now it’s time to talk about cats and their service to society. Hmmm. We have nothing to say, except that they catch mice from time to time if they are hungry or want to play. But if catching mice is your idea, you can do it yourself; the cat will never help if it doesn’t want it right now.

Pleasure

Another situation with moments associated with cats for pleasure. This beautiful fluffy creature that you can’t stop squeezing. To stroke a cat is a pleasure. Everybody loves it, especially when you hear purring. The next level of pleasure is when the cat comes to your hands or lies down on your knees. The sleeping of a curled cat is admirable even for those who prefer other animals at home.

Calming effect

Cat therapy is known for restless children and sick people who need to reduce stress levels.

Graceful

And finally, the gracefulness and friskiness of the cats. If you want to see the gracefulness of your pet, take a laser pointer and enjoy the show. Cats can jump and climb to any place. However, they don’t perform on command and stop when they want, not when you want.

Dogs are better than cats

So how to choose after all? If you read all the arguments above and still dream about a sweet fluffy kitten, you are on the cats’ side, and we truly believe that your pet will be the happiest creature in the world.

It is great that we have different preferences and are ready to care about the variety of animals. Some dream about small pigs or snails. Some have raccoons and rats.

And we can talk for long hours with their owners that their funny, clever pet is the best, but dogs and cats are still the most popular. At the same time, if you are not ready to make a choice, you can bring home both — puppy and kitten and enjoy their games and friendship.

For those who can’t imagine their life without a dog, we want to remind you that it is a huge responsibility for a creature that loves you and cares about you even more than about itself, so don’t let it down.
