The good news is, yes, feeding this sweet, tropical fruit to dogs is safe. Most dogs can eat a bite or two of fresh pineapple.

Dogs can eat raw pineapple, dried pineapple, frozen pineapple, pureed pineapple, and grilled pineapple.

Due to added sugars, avoid feeding your dog canned pineapple, commercially-frozen pineapple, or pineapple juice.

Benefits of eating pineapple to dogs

Pineapples are rich in vitamins and minerals, which can help support your dog’s immune system and digestive health. The fruit is also low in calories and fat, making it a healthy treat for your dog.

Pineapples are rich sources of vitamin C, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, and folate. Pineapple is also full of minerals, including manganese, copper, potassium, magnesium, iron, and small amounts of calcium, phosphorus, and zinc.
