Are you and your furry friend packing up the car and heading off on an adventure? Dogs are always up for exploring. You can have a lot of fun times going hiking with your pup. Whether you are visiting the city, going on a road trip, or heading to a national park, you are going to need to bring some essentials with you. To ensure that you do not forget anything, here are some things you need to pack for a road trip with your dog.

A collar and ID tag

First of all, your dog is going to be out exploring with you. Of course, this means that you need a leash. But if your pooch is allowed to explore off-leash, your dog also needs a collar and ID tag. This means that if your pup does go missing, your dog will carry your contact details. That offers you peace of mind when you are somewhere new with your furry friend.

Foldable bowls

All dog owners are going to bring food for their dog, as well as having fresh water available. You could bring their bowls from home. But, chances are, these are going to be big and bulky for road tripping. The good news is that you can use foldable bowls instead. They simply fold down when they are not in use, and this can save you space. They are also great for taking on hikes.

Warm bed and blanket

When you go on a road trip, your pup is going to be exhausted from all of the new adventures. This means that you have to make sure they have somewhere comfortable and warm for napping during the day. Of course, you will have to bring a fluffy bed with you where they can snuggle up. There are a lot of lightweight designs for easy travel. But dogs also love blankets and creating a den. So, you can use a cute collage blanket from woof blankets for your furry friend on your road trip. This is going to ensure they can rest and recharge their batteries.

Dog seat belt

It is the law in many places to have your dog secured when they are traveling in the car with you. So, you cannot forget your dog seat belt.

This simply clips onto a dog harness and goes into the seat belt holder in the back seat. This is going to stop your dog from distracting you so you can concentrate on driving to your destination.

Motion sickness medication

Just like some humans, your dog might not like traveling in the car. The motion can make them feel nauseous, and this is the last thing you want when you have a long road trip planned. Therefore, it would be best to stock up on motion sickness medication for your pooch.

You can seek the expert advice of a veterinarian to ensure you are doing everything to make your dog feel comfortable while it is away from its usual surroundings.
