Modern life flow and priorities we set often leave us no time for other important things – people, animals, and activities we love, and these things make us happier. If you are a student, you are probably overwhelmed with the amount of homework, projects, debts, and other responsibilities that adult life brings. We bet that more than once, you wondered, “Can I pay someone to do my assignment?” before you found services such as PaperCoach. If you already graduated, then you devote all your time to building your career.

Yes, these things are essential to achieve success and find your place in this world. But when the day comes to an end, you go home where your loved ones are waiting to cheer you up. If you are a dog owner, you have to understand that it needs your attention and misses you every single day when you are away. Your studies, job, marriage, kids, and other relationships naturally might affect the relationship with your fluffy friend, and as the famous quote says, you are responsible for those you tamed. If you want to improve this relationship, you need to find a way to manage your time. For this, check our guide today.

Find easy ways to spend more time with your dog

Compared to other pets, dogs bring a lot of joy and benefit to your daily routine. They make you exercise more and thus improve your health; they are capable of helping you if you feel depressed, and they are also your best friends that will never let you down. Your four-legged friend loves you without compensation just for being who you are, and it deserves to be treated as well. For this reason, you should either think about the ways on how to keep your dog engaged when it’s alone, or find a way to change your schedule. Even being the busiest person in the company, it is still possible to do and here is how:

1. Exercise together

All dogs except for some lazy breeds love activities: exercising, running, walking, playing, and having fun. A dog already requires you to have a walk minimum twice a day to keep it active and healthy, so why not stay active yourself and exercise together? We are not talking about bringing a dog to the gym, but it can be useful to do sports at home: jogging mornings, doing yoga, and just training or stretching in the backyard.

2. Run errands

When you have to complete a few tasks a day (go to the shop, visit someone, deliver things, have your hair cut, etc.), taking your dog with you is an excellent option. Many shops allow pets to come in while you can be together, have fun, take great pictures, and update your social media accounts with cute content.

3. Prepare meals

Dogs are curious by nature and would love to interfere in the cooking process to have fun and attract your attention. Providing you wash your hands regularly, you can let your dog help you with it, treating your pet with something tasty now and then. Thus, you can combine two things at once: preparing meals and giving more attention to your dog.

4. Schedule playtime

With so many things to perform daily, it is relatively easy to forget about your pet, that is why you should just include it to your schedule. Fit the playtime as an essential task that should be completed every day before you go to sleep, and it will probably be one of the most pleasant tasks that you have to do. Besides, playing and cuddling up with your dog, you can finally relax and get away from all negative thoughts and stressful situations.

5. Bring your dog to work

Many companies today claim to be pet-friendly, so check with your boss whether you can let your dog accompany you at work: not every day but at least sometimes. Even if your company doesn’t allow bringing animals to the office or your dog breed is too big and will not let other employees focus on their tasks, you can easily take a couple of days of remote work and spend this time working with your pet. You only need to check for possible options.

6. Plan an active weekend

Everybody needs to have rest from work, and these two days can be spent with a dog if you have had no time to play with it during the week. You can go to the park, take a car ride to the nearest attraction (city, mountains, lake, forest, etc.), spend a day on the beach or just cuddle up in a chair in the evening. You can even take it on vacation, providing you will find a pet-friendly hotel and your dog will feel fine traveling.

7. Become social

When you meet with friends for a cup of coffee, have a date, or a business meeting, you can come with your dog. First, you will be spending time together. Secondly, the dog can assist you successfully negotiate things and will just draw a lot of attention to you. Thirdly, your dog will have an opportunity to meet and play with other dogs if your friends bring them. The critical thing is that your dog will not be missing you home alone while you have so many options to keep it around.
